Grants

How are they given?

Why should someone who is deprived of their sight and hearing also be deprived of their independence and quality of life? There are many organizations fighting blindness and deafness, however there are far fewer offering practical solutions to the daily obstacles faced by vision and hearing challenged children and adults.

The Foundation for Sight & Sound is an organization dedicated to improving people's lives with visual and/or auditory challenges by giving them the tools and services they need to succeed. We take a practical, project-by-project approach to improving the quality of life for the sensory challenged. We evaluate and fund both existing and proposed solutions and only specific programs that tangibly affect people’s lives.

The Foundation for Sight & Sound unites individuals from both the public and private sectors in this common cause. FSS provides grants to qualified organizations for specific programs that ensure help goes where it is needed most.

Grant applications are accepted from non-profit 501-C3 organizations twice a year – April 15 and November 15. The foundation is not associated with any religious, political or advocacy group. Consequently these organizations are not eligible for funds.

Collaborative Ecuador Mission $8,000:

Funds for this partnership between The Foundation for Sight & Sound, McGuire's Hearing & Audiological Services and EarQ Group will go towards providing children of an underprivileged area of Ecuador with hearing aids, audiological services, batteries, and other hearing accessories.   The Ecuador mission is the audiological component of a major medical mission conducted by Bianca’s House with doctors from both Mather Hospital and St. Charles Hospital (located on Long Island, New York).
