Events You Can Do

Go Fly a Kite – A great family event. This event can be held at a park or beach. Ask a local craft shop or toy retailer to donate the kites and paints for the program. (If that is not possible see if you can purchase these items wholesale.) Bring the kites and paints to the park and set up tables. Each person who purchases a kite can then decorate it.

You determine the price. At a specific time, encourage all participants to fly their kites and explain that this pleasurable activity would be very difficult for the visually impaired.

This is a great family outing and a great lesson for children on helping others less fortunate than themselves.
